The kidnappers of two professors and other members of staff of the University of Abuja have demanded ₦300 million from families of victims.

Recall that the armed men who are yet to be identified invaded the staff quarters for the institution on Tuesday morning and whisked away from the victims. According to the school authorities, those abducted during the unfortunate attack are Professor Obansa and his son; Professor Oboscolo, his son and daughters, as well as Sambo Mohammed and Dr Tobins.

A day after the incident, the assailants have contacted the families of the victims and are now demanding N50 million from each abductee.

The Public Relations Officer of the institution, Habib Yakoob, confirmed the development on Thursday morning. He said, “They have contacted the family of the victims and we learnt that they are demanding for N300 million for all of them”.
