FUT Minna Is Doing Well, I Have Interest In Its Growth – IBB

The former Military President Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, has lauded the structural and academic height of the Federal University of Technology, FUT, Minna Niger State.

According to reports the former leader who received members of the Governing Council of the University at his Uphill residence during the weekend, rededicated his commitment towards the further growth of the higher institution.

Leading the varsity dons to meet with the statesman, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Prof. Olu Obafemi, praised IBB, describing him as an epitome of wisdom.

Obafemi, however, appealed with the former leader to further exercise his influence in assisting the university to ensure unhindered academic progress.“Gen. Babangida is a pillar to the growth of FUT, Minna and he remains a patriarch to the institution, which has evolved to become one of the best in the country.

“ I am confident that the University you nurtured is growing in leaps and bounds and it is not disappointing you,” the Pro-Chancellor said.

In his response, IBB again boasts of the varsity, assuring the visitors of his commitment to continue to support the institution to an enviable height worthy of emulation.

IBB said: “I am proud of the Federal University of Technology Minna, which has been doing well. I am interested in its growth. I assure you that I will do my best to ensure that the University remains an example to emulate by others.”

Other members of the delegation include the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi Bala; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta; Registrar, Mr Amos Nmadu Kolo; Hon. Abubakar Muhammad Maru, Dr Chike Onwe; Hon. Cletus Obun and Mrs Asta Ndajiwo.
