Mary Daniel, the 27-year-old amputee hawker as opened up on why she initially told Nigerians that her father is not alive as she begs Nigerians for their forgiveness.

Mary Daniels is currently the talk of social media after photos of her hawking sachets of water in a very busy street in Lagos, which led to some benevolent citizens making donations to her reportedly amounting to N25million.

Mary Daniel had taken claimed that she is an orphan and a single mother of one and her story of how she struggles to make ends meet touched Nigerians to raise funds for her.

However, after realizing discrepancies in her background information she had earlier, the Lagos State Government blocked her access to the cash gift raised for her on the basis of propagating lies.

According to a report by Gistreel news, the one-legged woman begged all her sympathizers to forgive her for claiming her father was late as she said that because of how her dad neglected her after her accident.

“Nigerians should forgive me. People that stay on the streets and in noisy places, hardly have a settled mind and I said my father is late so Nigerians can help me. I made a big mistake; Nigerians should please forgive me,” she pleaded.

“My father abandoned me since I was involved in this accident, there was no one to take care of me, nothing! That was why I said he’s dead. But my mother is truly dead. I had an accident truly; I was not amputated from birth,” she said.
