Pams Montessori School has expressed its interest to flag-off its inter-house sports competition on the 14th of March 2020. The venue of the event will be at Dini Connection Centre, Dominican School Compound, off Mafoluku Junction, Airport Road. The school emphasized its intentions to use the inter-house sports event as a springboard to cultivate in students positive and healthy life values that would help them to be dogged in their pursuit of success, persistent and determined to weather any storms on their way to greatness.

The saying “Learning does not end within the four walls of the classrooms” rings true as Pams Montessori School intends to encourage and motivate every student that greatness goes beyond the subjects taught in the four walls of the classrooms and as such, every child has what it takes to be great, they only need to be nurtured to believe.

The
school also disclosed that the theme for the inter-house sports competition to
be held on the 14th of March is “The
Champion Within”
. This will be the major focus of the inter-house sport in
order to clearly speak to the subconscious of the students to develop in them
high self-esteem, confidence, and determination to surpass every limit.

The
goal of Pams Montessori as regards the inter-house sport is to reorient
students about the positives and negatives of competitions among young ones. Children
have been trained to believe that second place position or subordinate
positions in competitions are for losers, this belief has stigmatized so many
students academically, physically and otherwise; this is why the Pams
Montessori Inter-house sports competition is out to not only encourage positive
competitiveness but also to enlighten students that losing is not a proof of
failure but a clarion call for students and individuals to work harder, strive
harder and be more determined to keep trying till they get to the pinnacle of
their aspirations and dreams.

Every
child needs to be reminded that there is a champion waiting to be set free in
them and all they have to do is to keep forging on and pushing on because
winners are never quitters and quitters are never winners. This is why parents,
teachers, and educational facilitators need to embrace this reality to nurture
students who are risk-takers, innovators, athletes, academicians who have been
raised to believe that there is a Champion
Within!

The
event would showcase a lot of sporting activities that would test the limits of
these students and improve them physically as well as mentally so they can be
well rounded in their academics and also be at the best physical conditions
because good health is wealth.

Some of the sporting activities that would be on display would be sack race, sorting the colours, mixing the colours, march past and many other exciting sporting activities would quicken the mental and physical attributes of the students. Overall Pams Montessori’s Inter-house Sports Competition is an effort at nurturing well-groomed students who are balanced in every area of learning and development.
