The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the release of deployment letters for prospective corps members (PCMs) under the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II.
The announcement, made on Monday via the scheme’s official handle on X (formerly Twitter), included essential guidelines and travel advisories for PCMs heading to orientation camps nationwide.
In the statement, the NYSC strongly urged PCMs to avoid night travel for their safety while en route to their assigned orientation camps. “2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II deployment has been released. PCMs are advised not to travel at night to the Orientation Camp,” the statement read.
To ensure a smooth orientation process, the NYSC announced that some PCMs deployed to specific states would be reassigned to nearby states for their orientation courses. PCMs deployed to Lagos State will have their orientation in Ekiti, Ondo, or Osun States, while those deployed to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will undergo their orientation in Nasarawa or Kaduna States. This arrangement is part of the scheme’s strategy to manage logistics and infrastructure across its orientation camps.
The NYSC also directed all PCMs to print and sign an addendum, a document required for submission during the registration process at their designated camps.
“Prospective Corps Members are advised to print and sign the Addendum, which is to be submitted during registration in the Orientation Camp,” the NYSC added.
The NYSC urged PCMs to prepare adequately for the orientation program, which serves as the foundational phase of their one-year national service. The deployment letters can be accessed through the NYSC portal, with details of each PCM’s assigned camp included in their profiles.
