The Concerned Parents and Educators (CPE) has called for urgent action to combat the spread of the trending Equatorial Guinea pornographic videos among the students.
The call was made in a statement signed by the group Coordinator, Mrs Yinka Ogunde, on Thursday November 7, 2024.
The CPE highlighted that the widespread availability of these explicit videos on various media platforms poses a grave threat to the moral and educational development of young people.
“We are witnessing an increasing number of boys and girls accessing these explicit videos without any restrictions, which is deeply concerning,” the statement read.
It added, “Our children are at a vulnerable age, where they need to be properly guided.”
The group is advocating for a collective effort to shield and educate children, encouraging parents and schools to organise training sessions aimed at sensitizing students to the dangers of such content.
It emphasized that the students should be properly guided so that do not idolise individuals depicted in these videos as role models.
“We must guide them to distinguish between positive and negative influences,” CPE insisted.
The CPE calls for a united front to prevent students from becoming engrossed in these lewd viral videos, recommending the development of structured educational resources, workshops, and seminars to facilitate open discussions.
“Our commitment is unwavering as we advocate for the safety, well-being, and proper education of children. We urge all stakeholders to join us in this vital mission,” it concluded.
