A heartbreaking case of a missing 28-year-old graduate, Ogubode Quadri Adedamola, has taken a chilling twist with the discovery of his body buried near the premises of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) Ileri Oluwa Parish, LASU 2.
Adedamola, who graduated from the Political Science Education Department at Lagos State University (LASU) and was the CEO of Horlar Edu Consultancy, had been reported missing on January 16, 2025.
The Disappearance
According to Celestial Reality, On the day he went missing, Adedamola reportedly called his girlfriend, stating that he was in front of the church and would contact her again shortly. However, he never returned or made further communication. Alarmed, the girlfriend notified the police, who promptly visited the church based on her account.
The church shepherd, Sup. Evang. Whepetoji Babaniyeh, denied seeing Adedamola on the day of his disappearance, stating that he had no knowledge of the incident.
Key Developments
As the investigation into the missing graduate’s case progressed, the police obtained Adedamola’s bank statement, which revealed a ₦1.5 million transfer from his account on the day he vanished. Tracing the funds, a portion was linked to the bank accounts of the church shepherd, his daughter, and other individuals.
Initially, Babaniyeh denied receiving any money from Adedamola but later admitted that the transfer was a “thanksgiving offering” when confronted with the evidence.
Grim Discovery and Arrest
The case took a dark turn when Adedamola’s body was discovered buried near the church premises. Investigations revealed that the burial was carried out under the supervision of the shepherd, Babaniyeh. Authorities also recovered a gun and an axe from his possession, further implicating him in the crime.
Babaniyeh has since been detained by the police for further questioning and investigation into his involvement in the murder.
