Friends and family of Idebi David Ayowole, a final-year student at Lagos State University, have become devastated as Ayowole fights for his life against Aplastic Anaemia, a severe condition worsened by iron overload.
A classmate who spoke to Allaboutschools correspondent stated that David was diagnosed two years ago and has since been on immunosuppressants and iron chelation therapy. However, financial struggles have prevented him from maintaining regular treatment, further jeopardizing his health.
Doctors have confirmed that his only hope for survival is an urgent bone marrow transplant abroad, a procedure that will cost approximately N60 million.
His loved ones are making an emotional appeal to the public to help save his life. Any contribution, no matter how small, could bring him closer to the treatment he desperately needs.
