KWASU Partners with LA-NET to Launch Innovative Virtual Learning Platform

In a move to enhance digital education and improve learning outcomes, Kwara State University (KWASU) has partnered with Rangeman Technologies Limited to launch the Learning Analysis Network (LA-NET), a new virtual teaching and learning platform.

The initiative was inaugurated on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, marking KWASU as the first university to explore this cutting-edge technology.

Speaking at the inauguration and a briefing session for academic staff, Professor Jimoh emphasized the university’s commitment to academic excellence through innovation. “KWASU, as a trailblazer in innovative solutions to challenges, is the first university to explore the opportunities offered by this virtual platform,” he stated.

Explaining the features of the LA-NET platform, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Olubukola Dada, described it as a user-friendly application designed to provide online video tutorials that cater to diverse learning styles, increase accessibility, and enhance student learning outcomes.

She highlighted its benefits for both students and instructors, noting that lecturers could reach a global audience, manage courses effortlessly, and even earn income through the platform.

The Chief Executive Officer of Rangeman Technologies Limited, Otunba Segun Abdulateef, clarified that the platform is not meant to replace physical classes but to enrich teaching methods and improve student engagement. He further noted that LA-NET was developed to reflect modern learning needs while showcasing the expertise of KWASU’s academic staff to a global audience.

To demonstrate the platform’s capabilities, Principal Officers, Deans of Faculties, Directors of Academic Centres, and Heads of Departments participated in an interactive session where developers provided an overview and live demonstration of the App.

With this groundbreaking collaboration, KWASU is strengthening its position as a leader in digital education, leveraging technology to provide flexible and accessible learning solutions that benefit both students and educators.
