Every parent wants their child to receive quality education and succeed. Fountain Heights Secondary School is a school which encourages and believes that every child can succeed. A good education attests to the truism “Education is what survives when what has been learnt is forgotten”. To this end, Fountain Heights Secondary School promotes in all students the tripartite spirit of self reliance, healthy competition and self identity so that each student will have good confidence rooted in the pursuit of knowledge and tempered by humility and respect for others as well as a deep
reverence for God.

Fountain Heights is an UNCOMMON SCHOOL where everyone cares for one another and so has a happy vibrant environment where students are encouraged to excel. The key to the school’s success is hard work and teaching the students to work hard and to prepare thoroughly for examinations. This is the attitude the students take with them to the university and all alumni students of Fountain Heights are doing the school proud in their various universities, in Nigeria and overseas.

Building of Fountain Heights Secondary School

Fountain Heights was founded on 5th November, 2001 by Mrs. Funlayo Olaitan, with Adebimpe Delano as the pioneer principal. It is a school that believes in the total education of the child, moral, social, physical and academic dimensions; affecting and disciplining the whole mind, body, soul and spirit. The end objective is to produce responsible, independent, dedicated, hardworking and balanced young men and women. The school has a vision to raise young selfless leaders who will stand for what is right.

Fountain Heights is well equipped in all aspects. Fountain Heights encourages its students to sit for Nigerian and International examinations and the schools curriculum is designed to prepare the students for these. It is a British Council accredited center and the students sit for Cambridge, I.G.C.S.E, WAEC and NECO examinations. The school also prepares students for the S.A.T. and TOEFL examinations, and it is proud of the students’ results. It has vibrant cocurricular and extra curricular programs.

The students are encouraged to be a member of at least three clubs, two of which are whole school clubs, Literary & Debating and Civics. Also they may choose from Music club, JETS club, Red Cross, Health, Cultural, Young Farmers etc. Music and Art also play a central role and all students, are encouraged to participate. The School encourages its students to take the MUSON Theory and Practical examinations.

Discipline is maintained at Fountain Heights because it is expected and demanded from the students in a spirit of willing cooperation. The school has a multipurpose court where students can play basketball, handball, badminton, five-a-side football and volleyball, a geographical garden, and an animal house. It has an excellent relationship with its parents and a vibrant and supportive P.T.A. The P.T.A. is ever ready to support and encourage the school. It also has a supportive and distinguished board of governors led by Prof. (Mrs.) M. Ogunlesi a previous deputy vice chancellor (Research) at the University of Lagos.

Fountain Heights is constantly improving and upgrading its facilities and environment. It is willing to listen to constructive criticism and suggestions for improvement. It is all well and good to have all these facilities but it is the teachers that ensure that the facilities are put to the best use and that the students are well taught. It is a school that is proud of its teaching faculty and has well qualified and experienced teachers who are constantly improving themselves through further study and through in house training programs and out of school training programs both at home and abroad. It also has a very low turnover of teaching and non teaching staff.
