Renowned education advocate and CEO of Edumark Consult, Mrs. Yinka Ogunde, has been honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Guild of Photojournalists Nigeria (GPN).
The award, presented at the Guild’s 3rd Annual Conference in December, celebrates her contributions to the education sector and media advocacy in Nigeria.
Ogunde, who is also the founder of the Concerned Parents and Educators (CPE) Initiative, a leading Facebook platform for Nigerian educators, expressed deep appreciation for the recognition. Reflecting on the honour, she took to social media to share her gratitude.
“What a beautiful award to receive from the Guild of Photojournalists in Nigeria. These are men and women who for years have used their skill to report great stories. They work with newspapers and international news agencies all over the world.”
Ogunde acknowledged the significance of the award and the impact of the Guild’s work.
“I am indeed truly honored to have been one of the distinguished awardees at their 3rd annual conference in December which held whilst I was out of the country.”
Despite her usual reluctance toward awards, she admitted that this particular recognition held special meaning.
“Thank you GNP for this. I run away from awards but this LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD is one that I truly appreciate. Thank you.”
The Guild of Photojournalists Nigeria, known for its role in documenting and shaping narratives through powerful imagery, continues to celebrate individuals making a difference in various fields.
Ogunde’s recognition further highlights her commitment to education reform and media engagement in Nigeria.
