Mrs. Anike Adekanye, Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary of Education District II, has commended Kaodwad and Associates for its significant contributions to improving education in Ikorodu Division, Lagos State. Her remarks came during a reception organized by the District to honor the winners of the Ikorodu Division Senior Secondary Schools Debate, which was held in collaboration with Kaodwad and Associates.
“Kaodwad’s efforts have played a crucial role in upscaling education in the Ikorodu Local Government,” Mrs. Adekanye said, urging other private individuals and corporate organizations to join forces with the government in advancing the educational sector across the state.
The event, held at the District Headquarters in Maryland, was an opportunity to showcase the intellectual capabilities of students and the dedication of their teachers. Mrs. Adekanye noted that the initiative would inspire students to strive for excellence and success in their academic endeavors.
The Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Mr. Wasiu Adeshina, also spoke during the event, emphasizing the importance of the third edition of the competition. “This year’s competition aimed to uncover hidden talents and build public speaking confidence among public secondary school students in the Ikorodu Council,” he said.
The grand finale of the debate, which took place at the LASUSTECH Cooperative Event Centre in Ikorodu, saw Elepe Community Senior High School emerge as the winner. Represented by Miss Onah Grace and Master Oduwole Temiloluwa, they took home a cheque of N500,000 and a laptop, presented by the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu.
The second and third positions were claimed by Government College, Ikorodu and Ipakodo Senior Grammar School, Ipakodo, respectively, with each winning schools receiving cheques and laptops.
Mrs. Adekanye congratulated the winners and praised their efforts as a reflection of the success of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES Plus agenda, alongside the tireless work of the Commissioner for Basic Education, Mr. Jamiu Tolani Ali-Balogun, and the unwavering support of Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hazmat. She also acknowledged the involvement of key stakeholders in Ikorodu Division for their dedication to improving education in the region.
