CPE, Others seek justice for falsely accused teacher

CPE

The Concerned Parents and Educators Initiative led by Mrs Olubunmi Adewakun marched with other NGOs seeking justice for Mr Bakare, a teacher who was alleged to have defiled a minor and has been thrown into prison ever since.

The aim of the protest was to escalate the issue of one Mr Adebisi Arewa who has been accused of falsely accusing and imprisoning people who alleges have defiled his daughters. His latest victim is Mr Adewale Bakare whom he has accused of sexually molesting one of his daughters while at Methodist Girls High School.

The said accuser, Mr Arewa has been notorious for using his position as a lawyer to accuse and throw people he suspects into prison. It has been reported that this is his 5th victim and this time, the daughter has confessed on record that she was not molested in any way by Mr Bakare.

The protesters were also seeking the arrest of the accuser for obstruction of justice as he has twice failed to bring his daughter out for forensic examination. His claims on all his victims have been investigated and found to be lacking evidence backing his molestation claims.

Mrs Olubunmi Adewakun of CPE while speaking at the protest stated that this action was to seek justice for Mr Adewale Bakare who has been falsely accused and all investigations have proved that the accuser has falsified his claims and there are precedents of that act.

The case is set to be heard in court on the 19th of May.
