The Concerned Parents and Educators Initiative (CPE) has called on the Federal Government to dialogue with ASUU leaders and bring the strike to an end.

This is coming after ASUU announced an extension of the strike by a further eight (8) weeks yesterday. The extension was due to Federal Government’s failure to satisfactorily address all the issues raised in the 2020 FGN/ASUU Memorandum of Action within the four-week warning strike.

In a statement signed by the group spokesman Mrs Yinka Ogunde, the situation whereby we have university students out of school must not be allowed to continue. She stated that it is dangerous to allow the educational sector at the tertiary level to collapse completely.

According to Mrs Ogunde, all parties will need to dialogue and seek for ways of ensuring that the students return to school. The country cannot afford the societal problems that arises when students are not in school.
