Corps Members Donate Wheelchair to Physically Challenged Colleague

In a heartwarming display of solidarity and compassion, three Corps Camp Directors at the Kano State NYSC Orientation Camp, Kusalla Dam, Karaye, have donated a brand-new wheelchair to their physically challenged colleague, Ugwuese Emelda (KN/24C/3283), to ease her mobility challenges within the camp.

The generous gesture was carried out by Corps Members Oyeniyi Kudus (KN/24C/2988), Sangonuga Saidat Olorire (KN/24C/2525), and Olunuga David Oluwatobi (KN/24C/2679), who emphasized that their action was driven by a strong desire to make a positive impact on their fellow Corps Member’s life.

“We saw the challenges Emelda was facing moving around the camp, and we felt the need to step in and help. It is all about making a difference in each other’s lives,” said one of the donors during the presentation ceremony.

The beneficiary, Ugwuese Emelda, who hails from Enugu State and studied Public Administration at the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, was visibly moved by the gesture and expressed deep appreciation to her colleagues for their kindness.

Reacting to the donation, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General YD Ahmed, commended the donors for their empathy and selflessness, especially considering that they had only recently met Emelda during the ongoing Orientation Exercise.

He encouraged other Corps Members to emulate their spirit of giving and positively impact those around them.

“There is nothing too small or too big to be given out,” Brigadier General Ahmed stated, urging the Corps Members to continue adding value to their communities and fostering a culture of care and inclusivity.

This act of generosity underscores the true essence of the NYSC scheme, which promotes unity, selflessness, and community service among Nigerian youths.
