Damilola Omotade Adeniran, a veterinary medical student from the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), has made a mark of excellence during her internship at the National Veterinary Research Institute (NVRI) in Vom, Plateau State.

NVRI, known for its pioneering work in animal disease research, vaccine production, and public health, offers a rigorous training ground for future professionals.

Damilola’s achievement underscores the synergy between UNILORIN, NVRI, and the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) in grooming the next generation of experts poised to boost Nigeria’s industrial and technological growth. During her research internship, she immersed herself in laboratory work across viral and bacterial research divisions, acquiring key skills in molecular biology and biotechnology.

Her experience was enriched by the cultural vibrancy of Jos, a city celebrated for its peaceful atmosphere, tourism appeal, and cultural diversity. Reflecting on her stay, Damilola explored the city’s unique weather, local cuisine, and the rich heritage expressed through language and attire.

The institute commended her performance, and UNILORIN expressed immense pride, noting: “With glowing feedback from the institute, we are incredibly proud of Damilola for representing our university so admirably.”

Her success highlights the crucial role of practical training in shaping skilled professionals and reinforces UNILORIN’s commitment to fostering excellence in veterinary science.
