Teachers Allegedly Assault Corps Member in Kwara State For not Greeting Properly

A shocking incident at Government Day Junior Secondary School, Kulende, Ilorin, Kwara State, has sparked widespread outrage after a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) was reportedly beaten and stripped by teachers for allegedly failing to greet them properly.

According to reports by Nigeria Stories, the corps member had visited the school to collect her clearance letter when the confrontation occurred. Witnesses alleged that a teacher initiated the attack, tearing the corps member’s NYSC white t-shirt in the process. Matters escalated further when another teacher allegedly joined in, slapping her.

The incident has triggered significant public criticism, with many Nigerians demanding a thorough investigation and accountability from the authorities. Commenting on the matter, a bystander stated, “This kind of behavior is unacceptable. Teachers are supposed to be role models, not aggressors. NYSC and the Kwara State government must take immediate action.”

This controversy underscores broader concerns about respect, professionalism, and abuse of power within educational institutions. As the outrage grows, all eyes are on the Kwara State Ministry of Education and NYSC authorities to address the incident and ensure justice is served.
