11 LASU Students Excel in Nationwide Virtual Test, Claim Cash Prizes

Eleven students from the Department of Business Administration at Lagos State University (LASU) have emerged as top performers in the recent Mobile Classroom App Nationwide Objectives Virtual Test for tertiary education students.

The competition, which gathered participants from various institutions, saw these eleven students rank among the Top 20 in the Business Administration category, earning them generous cash rewards from the organizers, Mobile Classroom Limited.

During a presentation ceremony held on Friday, October 18, 2024, Mr. Akeem Salami, the Founder of Mobile Classroom App, highlighted the achievements of LASU students. “Of the four categories in the competition—Political Science, Mass Communication, Business Administration, and Social Sciences—LASU students took part in the Business Administration category and came tops,” he remarked.

The competition awarded a handsome prize of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N150,000) to the overall winner in each category, while the other top performers received Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000) each.

The standout students who represented LASU with pride include Rufus Oluwole (1st), Oshinuga Ayomide (3rd), Sodiq Habeeb (4th), Obeng David (5th), Majekodunmi Feranmi (6th), Temitope Esther (7th), Abdulrokeeb Ojo (8th), Babalola Lawal (9th), Ayat Aliu (13th), Abdul-Qudus Ibrahim (14th), Hunkokoe Sewanu (15th), and Emmanuel Ajose (16th).

In recognition of his pivotal role in guiding the students, Dr. Ayomide Elegunde, a lecturer in the Department of Business Administration and facilitator for the virtual training prior to the examination, was awarded an Outstanding Lecturer Support Fund of One Hundred and Eighty Thousand Naira (N180,000).

Expressing her pride in the students’ accomplishments, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Olufunsho Omobitan, stated, “This feat is demonstrative of the greatness of the university.” She also urged the sponsors to consider expanding the program to accommodate more candidates in the future.

The ceremony was attended by various members of the university management, deans of faculties, and media representatives, all of whom celebrated the remarkable achievements of these LASU students.
