Vivian Fowler hosts 2023 National Robotics Competition for Lagos Schools

It was a competition that that signaled the future to come as Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls hosted the first National Robotics competition for Lagos schools.

It was a two-day event in partnership with Coderina EdTech, where students showcased their robots in action amongst other impressive displays.

The schools that took part in the competition were Greenwood House School, Canon James Pearse Anglican College, Children International School amongst others.

Director of Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls, Mrs Funke Fowler-Amba, said the competition was to foster collaboration, and knowlege of IT and marketing in the students.

Also speaking at the competition, Mrs Folashade Adefisayo, Lagos state Commissioner of Education, noted the rise of artificial intelligence and that its use would help students become life-long learners and problem solvers to the world.

The students were very enthusiastic as they showed off their robots which were inspired by creativity to solve simulations of real world problems.
