Varsity Students, Others Unite for Tech Summit in Abuja

The National Association of University Students (NAUS), National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS), and National Association of Colleges of Education Students (NANCES) will join forces for a highly anticipated Tech Summit.

The grand event is scheduled to take place on August 27, 2024, at the Nigeria Army Resource Centre in FCT Abuja.

This National Tech Summit, a collaborative venture among these three prominent student bodies, is powered by the Nigeria Customs Service. It promises to be a dynamic platform under the compelling theme: “Empowering Nigerian Students Through Tech.”

In a press statement jointly signed by NAUS National President, Obaji Marshal, NAPS President, Ridwan Munirudeen, and NANCES President, Eegun Jobi Samuel, the summit’s goal was clearly articulated: to equip participants with the essential skills and knowledge needed to combat unemployment and emerge as problem-solvers within their communities.

“We will also be charging the government to prioritise the tech sector in addressing unemployment in Nigeria,” the statement emphasized, highlighting the urgent need for governmental focus on the burgeoning tech industry as a viable solution to the nation’s unemployment crisis.

The summit promises a plethora of opportunities, including learning from industry experts and thought leaders in the tech space, networking with fellow students and professionals, showcasing innovative ideas and projects, and being part of a movement that is shaping the future of Nigeria’s tech industry.

“This summit is a unique opportunity for you to: Learn from industry experts and thought leaders in the tech space, network with fellow students and professionals, showcase your innovative ideas and projects, and be part of a movement that is shaping the future of Nigeria’s tech industry,” the statement elaborated.

All university students are encouraged to seize this groundbreaking opportunity and participate in the event. Registration is currently open, and students are urged to register now to secure their place at the National Tech Summit, paving the way for a brighter future through technological empowerment.
