UNIOSUN Holds 14th Convocation, Graduates 59 First-Class Students

The University of Osun State (UNIOSUN) will award first-class degrees to 59 graduating students during its upcoming 14th convocation ceremony.

This announcement was made by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Clement Adebooye, during a pre-convocation press conference held at the Osogbo campus.

Prof. Adebooye shared that the convocation will not only celebrate the 59 first-class graduates but will also see 673 students receive second-class upper division degrees, 1,109 students with second-class lower division degrees, and 304 students with third-class degrees.

In total, 2,409 degrees and diplomas will be conferred, comprising 2,145 first degrees, 10 postgraduate diplomas, 214 master’s degrees, and 40 doctoral degrees.

Highlighting the schedule of the convocation festivities, Prof. Adebooye stated that the university would engage in a series of activities from September 13 to September 21, 2024.

The culmination of these events will occur on September 21 with the commissioning of new projects by Governor Ademola Adeleke, followed by the convocation for the Postgraduate College.

Expressing his satisfaction with the timely completion of the 2023/24 academic session, Prof. Adebooye emphasized the university’s dedication to providing a conducive learning environment.

He assured that the institution remains committed to leveraging modern technologies and maintaining staff and student satisfaction to fulfill its vision.

In his address, Prof. Adebooye expressed optimism about UNIOSUN’s future, aiming for the institution to be ranked among the top 10 universities in Nigeria and within the top 20 in Africa.

He stated, “The path is clear as the strategies towards that end are robust.”

The VC also praised the support of the state government and appealed to the people of Osun State for continued backing, emphasizing that “their support is crucial for the growth of the institution as the university belongs to the people of Osun State.”
