Unilorin Alumnus Dr. Omotosho Receives 2024 National Diaspora Merit Award for Philanthropy and Leadership

Dr. Omotade Omotosho, an alumnus of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), has been awarded the prestigious 2024 National Diaspora Merit Award.

The award ceremony was held recently at the State House Auditorium in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where Dr. Omotosho was celebrated by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission for his exemplary philanthropic efforts and his role as a beacon of inspiration for Nigerians living abroad.

Dr. Omotosho has made significant strides in philanthropy, particularly through his life-changing programs across Europe that aim to uplift and empower communities. Notably, he played a pivotal role in coordinating the safe evacuation of Nigerian students caught in the conflict in Ukraine, showcasing his commitment to supporting his fellow countrymen in times of crisis.

Currently serving as the Director of MBA Programs at Coventry University’s UK Campus in Wroclaw, Poland, Dr. Omotosho’s influence extends beyond academia. He is also an active member of the boards of the African University Fund Inc. and the European African Centre for Development, where he continues to advocate for educational advancement and sustainable development across the African continent.
