Tragedy Strikes Ondo School as Female Student Stabs Colleague to Death

In a shocking incident, a Senior Secondary School student at Akoko Anglican Grammar School in Arigidi, Akoko North West area of Ondo State, was reportedly stabbed to death by a female colleague.

The victim, identified as Habib Salau, met his tragic end following a scuffle with a fellow student, known as Sandra.

Eyewitnesses recounted that the altercation occurred after school hours, escalating quickly into violence.

One witness shared, “It was during the fight that the suspect stabbed the deceased with a knife.” The grievous nature of the incident has sent ripples of shock through the school community.

Following the stabbing, Habib’s body was transported to the mortuary at the Specialist Hospital in Ikare, where it has since been secured for further examination.

Efforts to reach the principal of Akoko Anglican Grammar School for comments on the incident were unsuccessful. However, a teacher who preferred to remain anonymous expressed deep sorrow over the event, labeling it as “tragic” and highlighting the panic it has caused among students.

Reports indicate that students have been gathering in groups to discuss the harrowing event, reflecting the profound impact it has had on the school environment.

The state police spokesperson, Funmi Odunlami, confirmed the occurrence of this tragic incident, revealing that the case has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for a thorough investigation. Odunlami stated, “Police investigation would uncover the circumstances surrounding the death of the student,” promising that those responsible would be held accountable.
