Staff And Students Mourn As 20 Students Die In A School Fire Outbreak

Disaster hits Niger’s capital, Niamey, as twenty students died after their classrooms caught fire.

According to a report by Vanguard, The cause of the fire outbreak which started around the entrance of the school is yet unknown as of the time of the press release.

The fire razed down twenty-one classrooms trapping the students who had no alternative escape route.

In the absence of an emergency exit, the strong students amongst them were forced to break through the wall to save their lives but the infants who couldn’t do much to rescue themselves out of the situation got effectively trapped in their classrooms by the fire.

The presence of an escape route in the classes and the school as a whole would have saved more students from the untimely death.

The Prime minister of the Niger Republic, Ouhoumoudou Mahamadou was said to have embarked on a condolence visit to the school to offer his respect to the affected parents of the deceased students.
