A student, Philemon Igbokwe, has smiled home with a reward of N340,000 after he returned an android phone misplaced by its owner at a wedding in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The immediate past Commissioner for Information and Communications in the state, Emma Okah, disclosed this while celebrating the student of the Federal Government College, Rumuokoro, Port Harcourt, on his Facebook page.

Okah, who stated that the student had no phone of his own, said Igbokwe demonstrated a rare feat of honesty.

The ex-commissioner and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party said he announced a N50,000 reward, while another politician and a former member of the Rivers State House of Assembly under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Josiah Orlu, who also attended the event, pledged N50,000.

Okah added that another guest at the wedding made the announcement for the donation of $500, as the gathering erupted into jubilation and love for the ‘honest’ boy.

The former commissioner said, “Philemon demonstrated a rare feat of honesty by picking and returning a new android phone forgotten by its owner in the restroom. The Master of Ceremonies announced this at the event and people were excited to see such a show of honesty by a young boy in a country riddled with vices.
