President Bola Tinubu has approved a series of appointments to the governing councils of these institutions.
The new appointments were announced on Wednesday in a statement by the president’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale.
Among the notable appointments, Temi Harriman will serve as the chairman of the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Delta, with Adeola Adeogun, Benedict Aguele, Freeman Kasa, and Babangida Abdullahi joining as members of the board.
The Nigerian University of Science and Technology, Abuja, will see Rabe Mudi Bala as the board chairman, alongside members Akinola Fagbemi, Rakiatou Bagnou, Alwel Egwurugu, and Femi Osabinu.
In Bayelsa, Bram Baifa has been appointed as the chairman of the Federal University of Agriculture, Bassam-Biri, with Richard Odigbo, Yomi Johnson, Fatima Owuna, and Christy Omoruyi serving as board members.
The Federal University of Health Sciences, Kwale, Delta, will be headed by Ahmadu Salisu as chairman, and governed by members Aragbaye Oluwatosin Gbolagunte, Talba Bauchi, Akaninodo Adekunle, and Chibuike Ikenga.
For the Federal University of Medical Sciences in Katsina State, Habib Ibrahim will take the helm as board chairman, with Yau Abdulkadir, Shehu Kaka, Ibrahim Abbah, and Isijola Rasaki as council members.
Rukayyatu Gurin has been appointed as the board chairman of the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi, Adamawa, joined by Peter Dogara, Amina Ndala, Owolabi Oseni, and Olufemi Lawson.
Similarly, Yusuf Mohammed will chair the board of Admiralty University, Ibusa, Delta, with Sani Ndanusa, Abdul Oroh, Mary Agbo, and Omasan Agbajoh as members.
The Nigeria French Language Village in Badagry, Lagos State, welcomes Labiru Kafur as the new chairman of its governing board, alongside members Ibitoye Philips, Musa Ayas, and Ogenyi Emmanuel.
Victor Ukaogo has been appointed as the chairman of the board of the National Institute of Nigerian Languages, Aba, Abia, with Anjare Samuel, David Ismaila, Adimchinaka Onwukwe, and Princess Ify Okoye joining as members.
Awal Morike will lead the Nigerian Army University, Biu, Borno, as board chairman, accompanied by Mohammed Umar, Monday Nanza, Mohammed Audu, and Sheriff Abdullahi.
Usman Shanawa has been appointed as the chairman of the Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences, Abeokuta, Uganda, with Kabiru Yahaya, Chinenye Moses, Uyiosasere Ekhosuehi, and Joshua Adewale as members.
Ahmed Wambai will chair the board of Nigeria Arabic Language, Gamboru Ngala, Borno, with Gazali Suleiman, Imam Rahaman, Isah Kwayami, and Mohammed Mamman serving as members.
Finally, Edna Njoku has been appointed as the chairman of the governing board of the National Mathematical Centre, Sheda, Kwali, FCT, joined by Kovie Epetutu, Oyinkasola Okewoye, Ibrahim Musa, and Sarah Tukura.
President Tinubu expressed confidence that the newly appointed members will perform their duties effectively and within the scope of their statutory responsibilities, thereby contributing to the advancement of education in Nigeria.
