At the graduation ceremony of Playpen – held at Clou Event Centre on the 18th of July, 2019 – the pupils, parents, guardians, and well-wishers had a fun-filled moment. The Proprietress of the school, Mrs. Mofolake Adegboyega, gave a remarkable and heart-warming welcome speech and highlighted the pupils’ performances during the 2018/2019 academic session that ended that day (Thursday 18th July 2019). In her words; “Our pupils are amazing! They are quick to grasp new concepts and always eager to learn. They are well behaved and a blessing to us all. They are indeed a great generation. They make all the work worthwhile. Our children are learning different useful life skills. For instance, two of our pupils Miss Kezaiah Awhana and Mr. Adrain Oikerhe are co-anchoring today’s events with the master of ceremonies (MC), Mr. Godwin Ikejemba. We are raising confident children who will be great public speakers”.
Mrs. Adegboyega also appreciated the parents for their cooperation. She also promised the parents that the school will not relent in giving its best to meet their children’s educational and care needs. She said. “The beginning of the school year was a time of building trust with the pupils and with you. It was a time of building relationships together and creating a team with one shared goal; that is, providing the pupils with what they needed to develop and grow as preschoolers. That trust was built, relationships and teams created.
We moved through 2018/2019 academic session as a team, growing and learning and building a foundation the pupils would bring with them to Kindergarten and Primary classes. And now, it is very hard for us to believe the pupils are leaving us! You have entrusted the most treasures in your lives to us – your children. We can’t tell you how much we appreciate that trust. We thank you for sharing your children with us. We thank you for allowing us to be part of your family during this time.
And, I want to sincerely thank the teachers today. Thank you for your dedication to the pupils and their families. Thank you for your thoughtful planning and time invested in the lives of each of these pupils. I’m very grateful”, she concluded.
There was not a dull moment as pupils entertained the audience with beautiful renditions while the MC, Mr. Godwin Ikejemba dished out rib-cracking riddles and jokes.
Some of the beautiful renditions by the pupils that spiced up the event were – Karate presentation, Igbo presentation, Yoruba presentation, Hausa presentation, pupils and parents dance competitions, and Orchestra presentations.
It was indeed a fun-filled day as parents of the graduating pupils threw their weight behind and danced to the music played.
Prizes were presented in appreciation to pupils who performed excellently in various subjects.
Parents who have been supportive of the school were also presented with certificates of appreciation.
