Every
child is a champion that was the statement that set the tone and atmosphere for
an enthralling sporting experience at Pams Montessori’s 2nd Inter-House Competition.
Despite the downpour of rain on the eve of the event, spirits were not to be
dampened as the event was in full force on the day.

Pams
Montessori Inter-House Sports was quite an electric experience for students,
on-lookers, and even the parents as well, who were amazed and bedazzled by the
out-of-world displays that were presented by their young children. Spectacular isn’t
enough to describe the all-round excellence of Pams Montessori Inter-House
Sports.

For
the children present, Pams Montessori’s Inter-House Sports was just at a higher
level, as the young children were competitive, full of life and bursting with
intense positive energy. Sports truly is life as Pams’ students proved beyond
all reasonable doubt that the school is focused on bringing out the champion in
every child.

The
pace of the Inter-House sports event was an intense switch of gears which sent
the crowd on their feet cheering and gyrating all event long, right from the
blast of the opening whistle. The sporting activities displayed were immersing
and every one of the sporting houses was all out for the coveted trophy. Though
the Inter-House names were not the usual names, they were even better as the
crowd quickly got used to hearing: Amber House (Yellow), Ruby House (Red),
Emerald House (Green) and Sapphire House (Blue).

All
through the event, the students tried to outdo each other, with their eyes on
the price. One of the most amazing sporting activities that marvelled all was the
“filling the bottle” competition, where the little representative of Sapphire house
won the sporting activity through his consistency and patience.

The
events ranging from sack races, egg races, relay races, and 100m dash were all
keenly contested. The level of desire showed by the pupils was personified by a
little female athlete who randomly expressed her desire to triumph when she
said: “My mummy told me to win the biggest trophy”. Despite her finishing
third, her enthusiasm showed her belief that she was a champion.

The
intensity of the competition lingered all event long, with Ruby House leading
the pack for most of the games. Amber and Emerald house tried their best to
keep up with the leader but in the end, it was a lost cause as Ruby house
pummelled their way to the trophy by winning in the major events to seal their
victory.

It was a sight to admire, seeing young little children learning to explore their many talents and skills and believing that true champions are believers, never giving up and never backing down. Pams Montessori 2020 Inter-House Sports was indeed a day for champions!
