OYOSUBEB to Interview 545 Candidates for Teaching Positions

The Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB) is preparing to interview 545 candidates with various disabilities for teaching positions on September 10 and 11, 2024.

Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, Chairman of OYOSUBEB, emphasized the board’s dedication to providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities while balancing other recruitment criteria such as merit, gender, and local government representation.

The interviews will be conducted in two phases: candidates from Oke-ogun, Ibarapa, Ogbomoso, and Oyo on September 10, and those from Ibadan on September 11.

The visit by the Oyo State Agency for People With Disabilities, led by Director-General Barr. Ayodele Adekanmbi, marked the finalization of arrangements for the interview process. Special provisions will be made for visually impaired candidates, including braille question papers.

Barr. Adekanmbi praised the board for its inclusive approach, highlighting the increased awareness and participation of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in the recruitment process.

The interview panel will include experts and support staff to ensure accessibility for all candidates.

This initiative is part of the Engr. Seyi Makinde administration’s broader efforts to integrate PWDs into the state’s workforce, supported by legislative measures like the State Disability Law. The recruitment process aims to strengthen Oyo State’s educational workforce and promote awareness of disability rights.
