Oyakhire Halima Crowned Best Graduate in Engineering at Covenant University

Oyakhire Halima Sadia has emerged as the best graduating student in the Department of Petroleum Engineering at Covenant University, Nigeria.

With an impressive Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.91 in the 2023/2024 academic session, Halima’s dedication to her studies has earned her not just accolades, but also a first-class honour degree.

During the university’s alumni investiture, Halima was celebrated for her exceptional performance, receiving two prestigious awards along with a cash prize of one hundred and fifty thousand naira (N150,000). Reflecting on her journey, Halima noted the challenges of balancing leadership roles and extracurricular activities with her academic commitments, stating, “I am glad it was worth it.”

With her outstanding results, Halima is now setting her sights on becoming a leader in the energy sector, particularly in the oil and gas industry. She is driven by a vision to promote innovation and sustainable growth within the sector.

“I’m also very interested in the fashion industry and bringing my own ideas into the fashion world,” she expressed, highlighting her diverse interests.

Halima plans to further her education in the energy sector while seeking leadership roles in companies that prioritize sustainability. Her ambition extends to gaining experience in business development and management, culminating in her dream of establishing a fashion line that intersects with the oil and gas industry.

In a message to her fellow students, Halima encourages them to embrace their aspirations, urging them to “pursue their dreams boldly without fear of failure, because the satisfaction of achieving them on some days will overshadow the fear of failing on other days.”
