Osun State Polytechnic Issues Urgent Notice on JAMB Admissions Regularization

The Registrar of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has announced an urgent directive regarding the regularization of admissions in compliance with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) regulations.

The notice, dated September 17, 2024, emphasizes the importance of transparency in admissions, particularly for students admitted outside the JAMB system.

According to the internal memorandum, JAMB has mandated that all tertiary institutions in Nigeria disclose all admissions conducted outside of JAMB before the introduction of the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS).

The deadline for compliance is set for September 30, 2024. The Registrar, Mrs. M.O. Adeleke, stated, “This has become important because JAMB has announced its resolve not to tolerate condonement of illegal admission without JAMB Registration Number any longer. Strict compliance is enjoined, please.”

The notice specifically targets all Part-Time programmes—Evening, Daily, and Weekend—as well as Pre-ND students with Matriculation Numbers from 2016 and earlier. These students are urged to visit the Admission Office with a photocopy of their National Diploma (ND) result to facilitate immediate disclosure to JAMB.

Mrs. Adeleke warned, “Failure to do this before the end of September 2024 will mean that the affected students will not be allowed to go for NYSC, will not be eligible for the collection of discharge certificate, and cannot be considered for direct entry admission anywhere in the country.”

The registrar’s office is calling for widespread dissemination of this information to ensure that all affected students take the necessary steps to regularize their admission status.

This move is a significant step toward maintaining the integrity of the admission process at Osun State Polytechnic and ensuring that students can successfully transition to the next stages of their educational and professional journeys.
