Ondo State government ready to return schools to missionaries

There have been several concerns from different quarters that all missionary schools under the state government should be returned to the missionaries for better management of the schools.

The State Governor, H.E Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, while addressing the state workers at the state secretariat in Akure has assured all missionaries that the state is ready to return primary and secondary schools in the state to their original owners.

He further stated that the return of the schools would be under certain conditions stipulated by the state government part of the conditions to be met is an assurance that the released institutions will not discriminate against any admission seekers and all the Interested schools must meet the conditions.

According to Akeredolu, “Once the hurdles listed by the government are cleared by the mission owners, we shall gladly hand the schools back to them.”

The governor has directed interested religious organizations who are ready to take over their schools to approach the state Ministry of Justice for the necessary brief.
