NYSC laments insufficient hostel in Ondo camp

The National Youths Service Corps in Ondo State has said it lacked adequate accommodation facilities for corps members on its permanent orientation camp, located at Ikare Akoko, the headquarters of Akoko North-East Area of Ondo State.

To this end, the state coordinator of the NYSC, Mrs Victoria Nnenna Ani, called on the two prominent monarchs in the town to assist the corps in this regards.

The state coordinator, who spoke separately at the palaces of the Olukare of Ikareland and Owa-Ale of Ikareland, appealed to the two traditional rulers to encourage their subjects to assist the orientation camp, in the area of infrastructural development of the camp.

She said, “I wish to intimate His Royal Majesty, Oba Akadiri Momoh that NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp Ikare-Akoko is one of the oldest in the country and some of the facilities and structures are begging for upgrading and replacement as the case may be”.

Responding at his palace, Momoh said it took him several efforts to bring the camp to Ikare and promised to continue to do everything humanly possible within his means to support and attract assistance to the camp.

In his own remarks at his palace, the Owa-Ale of Ikareland, Oba Adeleke Adegbite-Adedoyin, expressed his continuous support for the corps with a promise to mobilise his subjects to do something worthwhile on the camp.
