Nigerian Final Year Student From FUTO Builds Gas Cooker With Local Materials, Imo State Govt Visits Him

Agazue Fidel Obumnaeme, a Nigerian student at the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), has impressed many with the gas stove he built out of locally found materials. He is a final-year student in the soil science department. The stove also features baking and drying sections, according to photos of his item.

The FUTO student expressed his delight that the Imo state government recognized his efforts as a means of encouraging him.

The FUTO student said grace found him, days after his work trended, the Imo state government visited his workshop as a sign of honour. The delegate was led by Honourable Eric Uwakwete.

On his Facebook page, Agazue said he is so honoured by the attention he has received so far from his schoolmates, family and the government.

The young genius revealed that what bothered him so much was seeing people patronizing foreign products more than those made locally. He said he is on a mission to right the wrong with his skill.
