Nigerian Air Force Airlifts Over 500 Students from Jos to Various States Using C-130 Aircraft

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully airlifted 582 students from the Air Force Military School (AFMS) and Air Force Girls Military School (AFGMS) in Jos to various states across Nigeria.

This commendable operation was carried out under the directive of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar.

The operation, which began on August 3, 2024, utilized the NAF’s C-130 heavy lift aircraft to ensure the safe transportation of students.

This initiative underscores the NAF’s commitment to the welfare and safety of its students, ensuring they can spend the holiday season with their loved ones.

In a statement released on Friday August 9, 2024, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, the Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force, provided details about the operation.

“The airlift operation successfully transported students from Jos to various parts of the country, including Abuja, Enugu, Ilorin, Kaduna, Kano, Makurdi, Port Harcourt, Lagos, and Yola,” stated Gabkwet.

This meticulous operation not only highlighted the logistical prowess of the Nigerian Air Force but also showcased its dedication to supporting educational institutions under its purview.

The C-130 aircraft, known for its reliability and capacity, played a crucial role in this large-scale airlift, ensuring that students reached their destinations safely and comfortably.
