NGO call for Sex Education to be included in School Curriculum.

Women Advocates Research and Documentation Centre (WARDC), a non-governmental organization has called for the inclusion of Sex Education in the Nigerian school curriculum.

This call was made in a meeting in collaboration with the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

In a statement by the strategic consultant of the Women Advocates Research and Documentation Centre said teaching children about dignity for women should start from childhood before teenage years when the character has been formed.

“We want to start the prevention programme from schools; we want to educate children about violence against women and children and this experience should start from school.

“This is because when attitude has been formed at teenage, teaching them about treating women with dignity might be difficult. If these behaviours have been taught from childhood, people will grow up to respect women.”
