NELFUND urges prompt action, directs students from six universities to confirm loan disbursements

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has issued a further notice to students from six universities that were part of the recent loan disbursement cycle.

The announcement follows the recent disbursement of education loans aimed at easing the financial burdens of students across the country.

Students who applied for loans between May 24th and July 17th, 2024, and have had their applications approved, are urged to visit their respective institutions to confirm receipt of their tuition fees.

The six institutions included in this disbursement cycle are Bayero University Kano, University of Ilorin, University of Benin, University of Ibadan, University of Maiduguri, and Federal University Dutsinma.

“For clarity and emphasis, the six institutions are Bayero University Kano, University of Ilorin, University of Benin, University of Ibadan, University of Maiduguri, and Federal University Dutsinma,” the announcement stated.

NELFUND has assured students that the disbursement process is being conducted in batches. Students who applied after the current disbursement window will have their loans processed and disbursed in subsequent cycles.

For students from institutions not included in the current cycle but whose loans have been approved, NELFUND encourages patience and assures that their loans will be disbursed in the upcoming batches. “Your loans will be disbursed in the upcoming batches, and NELFUND remains committed to ensuring that every eligible student receives their funds,” the announcement reassured.
