NANS South-West Lauds Asefon Dedication to Student Engagement

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) South-West Zone D has expressed its commendation for Comrade Sunday Dayo Asefon, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Student Engagement to the President of Nigeria.

The student body praises Asefon for his relentless efforts and strong commitment to connecting Nigerian students with the government.

In a joint statement from Comrade Jonh Alao, Coordinator of NANS South-West, and the Secretary General of NANS South-West Zone D, the organization highlighted what it described as a milestone achievement in student-government relations. They emphasized Asefon’s profound understanding of student issues and challenges.

The statement noted, “We have witnessed an unprecedented level of engagement, where our concerns are consistently given attention and addressed.” It further acknowledged the current administration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that “the student body is closer to the government than ever.”

The leaders expressed appreciation for the administration’s responsiveness: “This administration has shown a commendable willingness to listen to the voices of Nigerian students and take active steps in providing solutions to the challenges we encounter.”

Asefon’s track record as a former NANS President was cited as a key factor in his effective engagement strategy. The statement highlighted, “Comrade Asefon’s exemplary performance as the SSA on Student Engagement is not surprising, given his extensive background and leadership experience within NANS.”

They added, “His experiences as a former leader in various capacities have prepared him for this role, allowing him to discharge his duties with efficiency and a sense of responsibility.”

Under Asefon leadership, NANS South-West noted several impactful initiatives aimed at improving student welfare.

“From advocating for better learning conditions to representing our interests at the highest levels of government, Comrade Asefon has truly represented us well.”

The organization also praised Asefon’s open-door policy and proactive approach, calling it a new standard for student engagement with the government.
