I love writing about school owners that I know and have watched over the years. Today, I want to introduce the lovely, highly driven and passionate owner of Rochester Schools, Mrs Ifunanya Uzochukwu-Emedolu.
Rochester School is a beautiful Nursery/Primary school located on Chevron Road Satellite town and they recently unveiled a purpose built secondary school on Unipetrol Road. Satellite Town.
I met Mrs Uzochukwu-Emedolu about 4 years ago when she registered for a 5weeks John Maxwell mastermind leadership program with my organization. Her determination to learn and grow was obvious. I remember that even after the other participants leave the class, she will be there engaging me on various issues.
I remember her making a simple statement “I want the children who pass through my school to have the best foundation possible. It is a tough world and they must be equipped to do well”.
We would talk about various issues ranging from Teacher’s development, parents involvement, marketing, leadership, etc.
Today… Rochester school has come a long way and I am so thankful that leadership training for your students remain a core part of the culture there. I am delighted that you have chosen to ensure that you raise children who can think, see beyond the surface and create strategies for solving problems.
