Chrisland School student saga: The story so far

Following the unfortunate death of a 12-year-old Chrisland International School student, Whitney Adeniran, which has resulted in a protracted argument between the school and the parents of the deceased, here is all you need to know so far.

After the unfortunate incident that occurred during the school’s inter-house sports at Agege stadium, in the Agege area of the state, the mother of the student, Mrs Blessing Adeniran, took to social media to cry out over the death of her daughter, calling for the school to release the full story behind the death, stating that the school had not done due diligence for her child.

A petition has since started against the school and has garnered over 20,000 signatures since it was opened.

The two narratives currently surrounding the incident is the school management’s side claiming that the 12-year-old pupil slumped and died of cardiac arrest, while the pupil’s father, Michael, confirmed that his daughter was electrocuted; stating that He had evidence that the electrocution came from a naked wire from a cotton candy vendor machine.

The Lagos State Government has since ordered the shut down of the school pending the outcome of the investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of a pupil.
