The Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC) has published the list of illegal Universities currently operating in Nigeria.

The commission named 58 Universities on its list which included some popular Universities such as the Houdegbe North American Campuses in Nigeria, Leadway University, Olympic University amongst others.

Furthermore, 9 Universities are under investigation with the aim of prosecuting the proprietors and recovering fees and charges on suscribers and they include:

  1. National University of Nigeria, Keffi
  2. North Central University, Otukpo, Benue
  3. Christ Alive Christian Seminary and University, Enugu
  4. Richmond Open University, Arochukwu, Abia
  5. West Coast University, Umuahia
  6. Volta University, Aba, Abia State
  7. Saint Clement University, Ekiti
  8. Illegal Satellite campuses of Ambrose Alli Universities
  9. L.I.F.E Leadership University, Benin, Edo State
