LASUBEB Hosts Capacity-Building Workshop for School-Based Management Committees

In a significant move to foster community engagement in the development of basic education and enhance school operations across Lagos State, the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB) convened a one-day capacity-building workshop for School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) members.

The event, held today at the Board’s multi-purpose hall in Maryland, Ikeja, attracted representatives from various Local Government Education Authorities (LGEAs).

The workshop aimed to equip SBMC members with essential skills and knowledge to effectively contribute to the governance of schools within their communities.

Participants engaged in interactive sessions focused on best practices, strategic planning, and collaborative decision-making, all tailored to improve educational outcomes and operational efficiency in schools.

LASUBEB officials emphasized the importance of active community participation in education, highlighting that empowered SBMCs play a crucial role in bridging the gap between schools and the communities they serve.

The initiative is part of LASUBEB’s broader strategy to strengthen the education system in Lagos State by fostering partnerships between parents, educators, and local stakeholders.
