LASU Issues Urgent Warning Against Fraudulent Scholarship Scheme Claiming Affiliation

The management of Lagos State University (LASU) has formally dissociated itself from a dubious organization known as the “National Image Scholarship Scheme.”

This warning comes in light of reports that this entity is misleading individuals by offering “tuition-free scholarships” and falsely listing “Lagos State University, Ifo Campus” as an affiliate.

The university highlighted that a letter of admission and processing form purportedly issued to a potential student outlines a tantalizing offer contingent upon the payment of a specified fee.

However, LASU firmly states, “LASU has no affiliation with any individual, group, or organisation by the name National Image, neither does the university offer admission to candidates through them.”

LASU also clarified its operational boundaries, emphasizing, “LASU operates from three campuses only, namely, Ojo, Ikeja, and Epe, as well as the Lagos State University School of Basic and Advanced Studies at Badagry.”

The institution further noted that its only connection to Ifo is with the Royal College of Education, Ifo, specifically for the Sandwich Degree Programme.

In a bid to protect its prospective students, LASU reiterated that, “All LASU admissions are conducted EXCLUSIVELY through official channels as prescribed by the Joint Admissions & Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the university’s internal admission process.”

The university has warned that it will not accept responsibility for any financial loss incurred by individuals who fall prey to these fraudulent schemes. To ensure the authenticity of admission-related information, prospective students and the general public are strongly encouraged to verify details through LASU’s official website at www.lasu.edu.ng or via its official social media platforms.
