Kwara State Governor Abdulrazaq Declares Monday Holiday for Teachers

In a significant move to honour the invaluable contributions of teachers, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has officially designated Monday, October 7, 2024, as a public holiday for teachers in Kwara State, coinciding with the global observance of World Teachers’ Day (WTD).

In a statement released by Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu, the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, it was emphasized that this holiday is not only for public school teachers but extends to those in the private sector as well.

Governor Abdulrazaq expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the dedication and hard work of teachers, stating, “This holiday is a mark of appreciation for what they do.” He wishes all educators a blessed and fulfilling holiday, encouraging them to take this time to reflect on their impact and commitment to shaping the future.
