Kwara State Announces Free Common Entrance Exam, Warns School Heads Against Illegal Fees Collection

The Kwara State Government has officially announced that the Common Entrance Examination for admission into Junior Secondary Schools across the state’s 16 Local Government Areas will take place on Saturday, 10th August 2024.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, accreditation for the examination will begin promptly at 8:00 am at various designated centers across the state.

The Ministry also issued a stern warning to school principals, headteachers, and pupils to avoid any form of examination malpractice.

In a significant move, the state government has declared the placement examination free of charge, having covered all associated costs. The statement emphasized that any school head caught collecting illegal fees from pupils would face severe legal consequences.

The public is reminded that the examination date is fixed and has not been postponed. Pupils are required to bring their duly signed screen cards from their chosen schools to gain entry to the examination. No pupil will be allowed to sit for the exam without this essential document.

Principals and headteachers are urged to communicate this information to their pupils and ensure strict compliance with the guidelines provided.
