Kebbi Lawmaker Empowers Youth, Grants Scholarships to 23 Students

Faruku Maisudan, the member representing Suru Local Government Constituency in the Kebbi House of Assembly, has granted scholarships to 23 aspiring students.

This initiative will enable them to pursue their studies at the state College of Health Sciences and Technology.

On Sunday, Mr. Maisudan proudly presented admission letters to the 17 female and six male beneficiaries during a ceremony held in Suru.

Highlighting the importance of education in fostering development, he stated, “Education is a key driver of any meaningful development and societal progress. A government committed to ensuring a prosperous, equitable, and sustainable society must prioritize education.”

This scholarship programme is part of Maisudan’s broader commitment to enhance healthcare services within all 11 wards of his constituency. He underscored the necessity of nurturing future health workers, asserting that the investment in education not only benefits individuals but also contributes to the well-being of the entire community.

Each scholarship recipient will receive full coverage of registration fees and associated logistical expenses, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder their academic pursuits.

Mr. Maisudan urged the students to take full advantage of this opportunity, emphasizing the collective responsibility they hold towards their community.

In a show of gratitude, Jafar Haliru-Mutube II, the Lamido Dakingari, represented the parents of the beneficiaries, praising Mr. Maisudan for his unwavering dedication to education in the region. He noted that this marks the third batch of scholarships provided by the lawmaker, recalling a recent initiative that supported students at Kebbi State Polytechnic and other institutions.

Haliru-Mutube encouraged other affluent individuals to follow Maisudan’s example, fostering a culture of support for education and enabling the youth to thrive in their academic endeavors. This initiative not only highlights the importance of education but also serves as a beacon of hope for the future of Kebbi’s healthcare sector.
