JAMB has announced that registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) will begin on January 31, 2025.
This decision followed a roundtable meeting held on January 24 with financial institutions and other stakeholders, which was chaired by Mufutau Bello, JAMB’s Director of Finance and Accounts.
Bello confirmed that UTME registration will close on March 5, 2025, across all JAMB-accredited computer-based testing (CBT) centres nationwide.
He also provided additional key dates, including the closing of expressions of interest for the mock UTME on February 23, with the mock exam scheduled for April 5, 2025.
The main UTME will take place from April 25 to May 5, 2025, while sales of Direct Entry application documents will begin on March 10 and close by April 7, 2025.
Bello emphasized that registration would be conducted exclusively through JAMB’s professional registration centres (PRCs). A significant new feature for the 2025 session is the introduction of a mock examination for underage candidates.
Bello explained, “This window is necessary as any candidate who would not be 16 years old as of 30th September 2025 would not be eligible to sit the 2025 UTME. They can, however, participate in the mock UTME as a hands-on experience before their full participation once they come of age.”
Candidates will need to specify the type of e-PIN they require when purchasing their application documents. The four available categories are: Mock Only Trial Testing (for underage candidates) at N3,500, Direct Entry application at N5,700, UTME only without mock UTME at N7,200, and UTME with mock UTME at N8,700.
Bello also provided a breakdown of the application costs, including the UTME/DE JAMB fee of N3,500, a reading text at N1,000, a CBT centre registration service charge of N700, and a CBT centre UTME service charge of N1,500.
Other charges include a CBT mock service charge of N1,500, bank charges of N500, and a CBT mock-UTME centre charge of N1,500, all of which are to be paid through virtual payments. Candidates are advised to follow the registration dates closely to ensure they complete the process in time for the 2025 exams.
