Grateful Grannies Development Initiative Set to Donate Books to Underprivileged Schoolchildren

As part of its welcome-back-to-school programme, Grateful Grannies Development Initiative (GGDI) has disclosed a plan to donate exercise books to underprivileged students.

This benevolent act was disclosed by the group’s Chief Administrator, Mrs. Kemi Koleowo, on Saturday September 21, 2024.

According to Koleowo, the donation, which is part of the commitment of GGDI to educational empowerment of schoolchildren across classes, will be carried out through its chapters in Oyo, Lagos, Ogun, Kwara and Osun States.

Mrs. Koleowo articulated the vision, stating, “As schools resumed for the 2024/2025 academic session, we consider it our social responsibility to assist underprivileged students who lack some school materials.”

Her remarks highlight the thoughtful timing of the donation, aligning with the beginning of a new academic year.

The initiative, which focuses on providing support to indigent students across various classes, aims to bridge the gap in educational resources.

“It is also part of our commitment to welcoming the students back to school and donating big notebooks for the underprivileged students in our society,” Mrs. Koleowo added, expressing the group’s heartfelt intention to make a positive impact.

Further elaborating on the necessity for broader community involvement, she noted, “The education sector needs more intervention from individuals and groups in order to reach out and assist needy students.”

While the current donation might seem modest, Mrs. Koleowo assured, “Though very small, we hope to do more in the course of our service to humanity.”

The Grateful Grannies Development Initiative continues to champion the cause of education, inspiring others to contribute to the well-being and development of future generations.
