Gov Makinde Inspires NYSC Graduates with Personal Journey

In a heartfelt address that resonated deeply with the graduating Batch B Stream 2 youth corps members at the Lagos State NYSC Orientation Camp, Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, shared personal insights from his own journey of transformation.

The event, which was particularly special for Governor Makinde, included the participation of his daughter, Tobi, among the graduates.

Governor Makinde reflected on his own NYSC experience 34 years ago, drawing a parallel with the young graduates.

“Earlier today, we were at the Lagos State NYSC Orientation Camp for the passing out parade of the Batch B Stream 2 youth corps members which included my lovely daughter, Tobi,” he remarked.

He recounted his beginnings in Port Harcourt, where he was once a youth corps member just like them. “In my remarks, I said 34 years ago, I was a youth corps member just like them in Port-Harcourt where I started my career in the oil and gas industry and met my wife. At the time, I had no idea that I would become a governor in Nigeria.”

Governor Makinde encouraged the youth to make the most of their service year, emphasizing its potential to shape their futures.

“I encouraged them to utilise their one year of service to our nation to lay solid foundations for their future,” he urged.
