Floods continue to ravage school communities in Lagos

Schools in the mainland and Island areas of Lagos state and areas on the Island have become victims affected by the increased flooding ravaging communities in Lagos state and Nigeria as a whole.

A community primary school in Itowolo Ikorodu axis of Lagos state southwest of Nigeria where most residents send their students have been forced to close again this year.

The school has been a victim of the yearly flooding which affects the community.

The floods come and the students and teachers have to wade the water before they enter their classrooms.

Since September this year, the flood has been a major event that has rocked Nigeria as a country since the opening of the dam in Cameroon.

This has led to both low-income and high brow areas in Lagos state affected by its effects.

Schools are now being advised to take proactive measures to prevent mishaps resulting from the flooding and teach students the causes of these issues and allow them reflect on the future effects of this, hence stemming creative thinking from them on how to solve these issues.
